With the number of musical acts releasing music these days, there are bands that you’re always going to confuse with each other. Some because of their names being close, others because they sound the same and then there are some that it happens for no real reason. Sondre Lerche and Jens Lekman are two very different singers with two very distinct styles. I’ve known of both of them for quite a while but never really listened to either enough to develop a musical memory of either. I’m hoping that the songs that I use this week will finally help me remember which one is which. Here’s the playlist:
Shad – it ain’t over. from “melancholy and the infinite shadness”
Menomena – Heavy Is As Heavy Does
A Place To Bury Strangers – And I’m Up from “Worship”
Dinosaur Jr. – Watch The Corners
Sondre Lerche – Boxing Day from “Phantom Punch”
Jens Lekman – Erica America
Sixpence None The Richer – Sooner Than Later from “Lost in Transition”
Flea – 333 from “Helen Burns”
Thanks for listening and I’ll see you next week.
