It’s pretty amazing the amount of music that you can find legitimately free on the Internet these days. There’s a lot of stuff I end up checking out even though I really have no intention of really listening to it, let alone purchasing it. The track from this week’s episode that fits that profile is John Legend covering Adele. I know some people that are big into Adele and big into John Legend but I’ve never really listened to either of them, aside from Legend’s amazing cover of Arcade Fire’s Wake Up. So when I saw the John Legend song online this week, I figured I should give it a shot. I’m really glad I did. I don’t think it’s enough for me to pick up an album by either of them but at least he’s exposed his music to someone who would normally ignore it, so the promotion works. Got some other great new music this week from Shad and Low as well. Here’s the playlist:

Cold War Kids – Finally Being from “Mine Is Yours”

Shad & Skratch Bastid – Give You All I Can (Download it here.)
Thursday – No Answers from “No Devolucion” (Download it here.)
Kidcity – Blackened (Download it here.)

Low – Especially Me from “C’Mon” (Download it here.)
Gomez – Options from “Whatever’s On Your Mind” (Download it here.)
John Legend – Rolling In The Deep (Download it here.)
The Midwinters – I Get Down from “Hinges” EP (Download it here.)

The Appleseed Cast – Middle States from “Middle States” EP (Download it here.)

Thanks for listening and I’ll see you next week.

Great blog. I loved the Shad, Low, CWK songs and the Legend cover of Adele. Thursday definitely sounds different than in the past — none of the screamo-pop stylings they built their sound on. Nice one!
