This really has nothing to do with the podcast today, but it’s great to see MuchMusic bringing back The Wedge. I’ve discovered a lot of great music from there over the years and it was always great to see bands that I loved and admired get some airtime on cable TV in Canada. I kind of miss seeing music videos and now that I’m out of the target demographic for most music videos, it’s kind of nice to still sit down and see some videos with music that doesn’t make me cringe.
As for what’s on the show today, well we’ve got some new music from Newfoundland’s version of Arcade Fire, aka Hey Rosetta! and everyone’s favourite Swedish male trio, Peter, Bjorn & John. I also managed to scrape up some RIAA-friendly songs from some long-time favourites like Social Distortion and Cake. I think I managed to get a good balance today without having to resort to any Gangsta-Rap, which is what I know you all come here for. That said, here’s what’s in your ears:
