2010 is done! Well, I’m sure if I want it to end. I’ve had a great year. I’m not sure if 2011 will top it. I hope so, but I can’t be sure until we’re sitting here a year from now and I get a chance to compare the two. Musically, 2010 was a fantastic year, with some dynamite albums released. Although everyone else seemed to have released their best of lists in December, you’ll have to wait one more week to see mine. This is kind of a wrap up post, but there’s also a couple tracks from some eagerly anticipated albums due in 2011. As you prepare to put 2010 to rest, here’s what you’re hearing:
Powerglove – Gotta Catch’em All from “Saturday Morning Apocalypse”
Mike Tompkins – Only Girl (Featuring Shad)
Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling & Dharohar Project – Devil’s Spoke/Sneh Ko Mang
The Rural Alberta Advantage – Eye Of The Tiger
Dr. NoBot And His Anti-Automatons – Close Encounters Of The Ominous Ape-Cat (A Contemplative Nocturne Useful For Passing Sleepless Mid-Nights) from “Dr. NoBot And His Anti-Automatons Present: A Macabre Menagerie And Blessed Bestiary, Cunningly And Cussedly Commingled For Your Delighted Dread And Deviant Devotion (Caution: Not Recommended for Listening To Along Or In The Dark)”
Kinley – Taxi Driver
Saint Alvia – Bad Apples
R.E.M. – Discoverer from “Collapse Into Now” (Download it here.)
Clogs – We Were Here (featuring Sufjan Stevens & Shara Worden) from “The Creatures In The Garden of Lady Walton”
S. Carey – In The Dirt from “All We Grow”
Sufjan Stevens – Auld Lang Syne from “Gloria: Songs For Christmas Volume 6″
Thanks for listening and as always, hit me up on Twitter (@mtroads1) if you have any comments or requests.
