If you’ve listened to this program for a while, you’ve heard me rave about Deepspace 5 before. They put out a mixtape last year that had a couple fantastic tracks that I used. I still laugh every time I hear the line “Jesus come back and take me, until I give up the ghost like Swayze, I’m Swayze” “Did he go there?”. They’ve been talking about a new album for a long time and recorded it around the time of that mixtape. They finally found a label to release it and Mega City Records did so a week ago Tuesday. It was a long week to wait for my copy to arrive. A video for the song I used this week, From The Outside, has been floating around the Interwebs for some time, so I know the song well and listened to it a lot while I was waiting for the full disc. The disc didn’t disappoint. The rap can get a little nerdy at times but it’s still full of awesomeness. I can easily seeing this being in my top 10 of 2010 at the end of the year.

Also this week has new music from M.I.A., Wolf Parade and Discover America. If that doesn’t make this episode worth a listen, you might as well stop right now and never come back… well, at least you can stop listening to my show…

Deepspace5 – From The Outside from “The Future Ain’t What It Used To Be”

M.I.A. – Born Free
Wolf Parade – Ghost Pressure from “Expo 86″
Discover America – Force of Proper Wind from “Future Paths” (Download it here.)

Denison Witmer – California Brown and Blue from “Are You A Dreamer?”
Michael Knott – Detox Radio Station from “Hearts of Care”
City & Colour – Boiled Frogs from “Dine Alone Digital 45: Volume 3″

Danny Paul Grody – Crescent from “Laminar Excursion Monthly”

Thanks for listening and I’ll see you next week.

Jared

Nice to see a Discover America track on there. I added them to my last.fm profile a while ago. Love the song “Green Eyes” by them.

Also, I don’t know about the rest of the album, but twothirtyeight’s song “Modern Day Prayer” from “You Should Be Living” is like my favourite song right now.
