Well, it was an exciting show last week.
I messed up and played some music which wasn’t released yet, and for that I am deeply sorry. It is funny (or is this a time when ironic is the actual right word) that a band which Danger Mouse is a part of was the problem, as he received most of his fame for the controversial Grey Album (click here for more info).
We don’t do any of this for money, for fame or for anything other than a love of music.
I was not intending to distribute the song. The logistics of taking a song I play and pulling it out of the entire show, although very very difficult and time consuming for most, is possible and again, for that, I understand why it is wrong to play the music early.
If you’re wondering why I played “This Land is Your Land” to start the show off, beside the obvious reason of it being fantastic and Woody Guthrie being an amazing folk song writer and singer, it was also written in protest to “God Bless America”. As well, the lyrics have changed to make it more “friendly” which just seems wrong. You can read more about that here.
So, there it is. I will follow all rules but, although cautious, I’m not going to stop and neither is STRadio. We actually have a surprise in store this week so stay tuned for that, but for now… although cliche, keep on rockin’ in the free w0rld.
