I try my best not to simply regurgitate the music that other people are raving about. After reading through a couple of music blogs, it’s pretty easy to be turned off by some flavour of the week that they’re all about. It seems weird that an indie band could suffer from over-exposure but too much hype has definitely kept me from picking up a couple albums. What does this have to do with today’s episode? Well, I’ve been listening to Paste’s digital sampler from it’s Issue #57 and included a couple tracks from it this week. They seem to be all about the Avett Brothers and after hearing “I and Love and You”, I can’t say blamed them. I went looking for their new album this week to get a sense of it before using that track but I couldn’t seem to find it. The song has really grown on me and I spent about half an hour earlier this week just listening to the song on repeat. I’m about 2 days away from either giving in and ordering the album online or getting sick of it and never listening to the band again. It’s most likely going to be the former but you never know. Here’s what’s on the program today:
