Ahoy…
So, as it seems to be a yearly tradition, it’s becoming colder outside and darker and in general more miserable. As the season goes, so does my health, but this is not a health blog, it’s a music podcast or whatever you want to call it, so here comes the music.
Had a lot of inspiration for the show this week. from conversations to commercials and the radio. I’ve also woken up with random songs in my head, which is never actually as fun as it sounds. Often times, the song isn’t necessarily a good one and until I hear the aforementioned brainworm, it won’t leave. I have spend many a-morning hunting down horrible, even terrible songs so as to remove them from my brain. Luckily, a few bars and the song is gone.
Today I woke up with some They Might Be Giants in my head, which worked out great as I’ve been listening to them a lot this week. After a conversation with Dave, of Dale’s Day, Tina Yuthers is dead and countless other ST related fames, I’ve been listening to a lot of TMBG. Today, much to Kristie’s dismay, I was singing ‘Your Racist Friend” this entire morning. Then I played it and sang along and then I kept singing it, because it’s a great song.
