I hope everyone had a great long weekend. Personally, mine was fantastic. I followed Toronto FC down to the States to take in a game just outside of Boston. Managed to get to the game early enough to sit in the front row of the visiting supporters section which is always a blast chanting and singing-a-long at the top of your lungs for 90 minutes plus. The end result was a little disappointing but a draw on the road is usually a good thing. Anyways, this playlist was brought together from songs played in the well over 20 hours I spent driving my car on the weekend. Actually, now that I think about it, the One Hundred Dollars song might not have been played but I just got carried away and playing a local band (and One Hundred Dollars at that) is never a bad thing. It’s always a little weird having someone else pick songs to play from your iPod. They always seem to find the depths of the library that you haven’t bother to step foot in for quite sometime. In this case, Tyrone spun Things We Lost In The Fire by Low. It had been a couple years since I’d brought that out and immediately remembered why I love that album so much and the lead track Sunflower is perfect for driving along a highway on a sunny summer afternoon. Anyways, enough talk, onto the playlist.

Barenaked Ladies – TFC

David Bazan – Bless The Mess from “Curse Your Branches” (You can download it here from Stereogum right now.
Starflyer 59 – Broken Arm from “Ghosts Of The Future” 7″ series (B-side from disc #8 of 10)
Thrice – The Whaler from “The Alchemy Index Volume 2 – Water”

The Rural Alberta Advantage – The Deathbridge in Lethbridge from “Hometowns”
Bruce Peninsula – 2nd 4th World War from “A Mountain Is A Mouth”
One Hundred Dollars – Fourteen Hour Day from “Forest Of Tears”
The Hold Steady – Party Pit from “Boys & Girls In America”

Low – Sunflower from “Things We Lost In The Fire”

Thanks for listening and I’ll see you next week.

Jared
