After last week’s statement about continually listening to the same albums, I finally tracked down some new music for myself and for you. That’s not to say I stopped listening to those albums. One peek at my last.fm profile would indicate otherwise, but I found a couple new discs that are definitely worth some attention. Namely, Phoenix’s Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and Grizzly Bear’s Veckatimest. I have no idea how to pronounce that Grizzly Bear album but it’s a good one. Last year, I scrapped my annual top 20 album list because I had a tough time filling the slots, but here we are halfway through 2009 and I think I’ve found about 30 albums that have been really enjoyable. It’s going to be a tough year to put that together. On to the playlist:
Tumbledown – Let’s Drink from “Tumbledown”
Phoenix – Lisztomania from “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix”
An Horse – Camp Out from “Rearrange Beds”
Grizzly Bear – Two Weeks from “Veckatimest”
Vampire Weekend – Exit Music (For A Film) from “Stereogum Presents… OKX: A Tribute To OK Computer”
Cool Hand Luke – The City Prevails from “The Sleeping House”
Thrice – The Sky Is Falling from “The Alchemy Index: Vol. III – Air”
Boards Of Canada – Hey Saturday Sun from “The Campfire Headphase”
Thanks again for listening and I’ll see you next week.
Jared
