First of all, apologies to those of you who were waiting for a new Brown Couch of Leisure this week. Karim’s taken the week off and probably the next couple as well. I know, I know, I’m disappointed too but take heart as Jared’s Podcast and Put Your Heart Into It will still be going strong in his absence. Unfortunately, I’ve spent the last week listening to the same few albums that I’ve been using over the last month, so I don’t really have any new songs to give you this month. Just in case I haven’t plugged it enough, check out It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All a Dream! It’s Alright! by mewithoutYou. It’s my early favourite for album of the year. Each song tells a great story and there’s some great variation in the instrumentation and emotion. There are still a couple of the vintage, intense mewithoutYou songs but there are also some upbeat, positive and simply whimsical stories as well. What does that have to do with this week’s show? Not too much. I’ve reached back and picked some tracks, mostly from 2006 and 2007, and put together a pretty good show of some older material that you might’ve missed and some you definitely heard.
