What up kids? Welcome to this edition of the ol’ BCOL and hot damn if it’s not a good one… cause it is and it’s filled with new music to the gills, so hot damn!

First, shouts out to Frank at FireballXL5 for a) his incredible radio show and now podcast (Frank’s an old CKMS crony and a gentleman and scholar) and b) for being a friend and contributor to the ‘Couch for years. I didn’t steal anything from him for this show but just you wait… he’s a genius.

As I said, loads of new stuff today and most of it comes from the Internet… it’s on computers now and t-shirts have told me it’s the “wave of the future”. My friend Todd invited me to the awesome site what.cd which has given me so much joy in the last few weeks by finding new music in a really great way. Not only can you download music to sample and then quickly remove from your hard drive before you buy the album ,ahem, there is so much more. They have this chart which users can input who they think is like the band you are researching. Charts!

Now, I know loads of other sites do this, but when users control it the selections are sometimes a bit far-fetched which ups the random level considerably and hence, greatness. The site is invite only, so find a friend with an invite and bug them… but don’t bug Todd or he’ll hate me for breaking his secrecy… plus he owed me for some hurtful comments he used to make back in the ol’ Jane Bond days of the Brown Couch… that’s a lie. He’s a star.
